WHY WAS THE LORD OF GLORY LAID IN A MANGER?

Luke 2:7, “And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.”

To me, the thought that the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords would come to this world and be placed in a manger is almost beyond my level of comprehension. Think about it, a manger is a feeding trough for farm animals. It wasn’t a bad place for feeding sheep or cattle, but to my mind it was certainly no place for a baby to be placed, much less the Son of God

However, as I think about this great truth, I realize that there were some pretty important reasons why Jesus was placed in a manger at His birth. Today, I would like to take a few minutes and address the question, “Why Was The Lord Of Glory Placed In a Manger?”

BECAUSE OF ALIENATION

Jesus was placed in this makeshift cradle because there was no room available for Him and His family in the inn there in Bethlehem. God came to the earth to redeem sinners, men responded by putting up a no vacancy sign!!! Things haven’t changed much in the intervening 2,000 years! There is still no room for Jesus in society, schools, many homes, most lives and, sadly, in some churches.

The question you and I need to answer for ourselves is this: Have we made room for Jesus in our hearts? He was unwanted then, and for the most prat, He still is!

what are your plans this Christmas 2025? are you planning to trust Him? will you come to Him as your savior? that is why He left Heaven and came, just for you, that you might have a personal savior from your sins and a loving companion on the journey to heaven.
